The practice of becoming aware of your thoughts, emotions, and body—not to change them, but to understand them. When we observe ourselves with compassion instead of judgment, we create space for clarity, calm, and choice.

Meditation

The practice of training the mind to return to the present moment with kindness and intention. It isn’t about emptying your mind—it’s about noticing what arises and gently guiding your awareness back, again and again. Over time, meditation builds calm, clarity, resilience, and a deeper connection within yourself.

Breathwork

The practice of using intentional breathing patterns to regulate the mind and body. Through simple techniques—slow breathing, deep breathing, or rhythmic breathing—you can calm your nervous system, release stress, increase energy, and come back into balance. Breathwork is one of the most accessible tools we have for emotional resilience and inner peace.

Each session is tailored to your unique needs, whether you're seeking relaxation, emotional release, or enhanced focus and clarity.

About Me

Welcome, I'm Melissa Frederick, a certified mindfulness, meditation, and breathwork practitioner and the founder of Minds Matter with Melissa. My work is based in evidence-based practices, positive psychology, and lived experience.

My journey into mindfulness, breathwork and meditation began five years ago when I was searching for tools to overcome depression, anxiety, and addiction. Through consistent practice, I experienced profound shifts in my mental clarity, emotional resilience, and overall wellbeing.

My mission is to help you create a deeper awareness within yourself, the kind that reveals just how powerful you truly are as a human being. When we learn to witness our thoughts, feel our emotions with compassion, and understand the patterns that shape our lives, we unlock an inner strength that changes everything. Through this work, I help you reconnect with your innate wisdom, reclaim your personal power, and step into the fullest, most authentic version of yourself.
